Dracula's Castle is a 1991 text-and-graphics adventure for the classic Macintosh by Al Staffieri Jr. You are stranded on an island ruled by a vampire, and your goal is to defeat Dracula, locate the treasure hidden somewhere on the island, and escape with it intact.
Adventure structure
The game blends typed or menu-driven commands with illustrated scenes, in the tradition of early Mac adventure titles that paired narrative text with simple framed artwork.
The objective
Three goals interlock: survive the castle and its undead host, find the treasure, and get off the island alive. Skipping any of those goals leaves the quest unfinished.
Author and era
Al Staffieri Jr. authored a number of small Mac shareware titles in the early 1990s, and Dracula's Castle fits that pattern of compact, single-author adventure games distributed through user groups and bulletin boards.
Platform
The release targets classic Mac OS systems of its era and runs on 68k hardware.
