Game w/Fields is a HyperCard "shell" for building your own graphic adventure games on the Macintosh, posted to Info-Mac in the mid-1990s by Cindy M. Carney. Inspired by ICOM Simulations' classic Deja Vu, it ships as an unfinished framework released to the HyperCard community in the hope that another author will flesh it out.
Concept
The stack provides a graphic interface in the spirit of the MacVenture series (Deja Vu, Shadowgate, Uninvited), letting players move between rooms and interact with objects through a point-and-click HyperCard layout rather than a text parser.
What Is Included
According to the author, the shell itself is finished, along with a handful of simple objects and basic room descriptions. Artwork and a complete storyline were never added, leaving the framework essentially as a blank canvas.
Intended Audience
Carney explicitly addressed the release to "some kid (or game-loving adult)" who might want to extend it as a learning project, calling out the thrill of programming an original adventure game in HyperCard.
