Fear Tiger

Fortress of Fear and Tiger Cavern is Josh Mills's 25-level Wolfenstein 3D add-on for the Macintosh, distributed under info-mac/game/com/wolf as fear-tiger.hqx. Fortress of Fear was previously released under the title Dragon Cavern; this package bundles a renamed Fortress of Fear plus Tiger Cavern as one totally free download "for the true Wolfenstein addict."

Two scenarios in one package

The header bundles both scenarios under one upload: Fortress of Fear (formerly the Dragon Cavern) and Tiger Cavern, totalling 25 levels. The author's pitch is short and direct: "Simple puzzles, lots of enemies to shoot at. For the true Wolfenstein addict. Totally free." An Enhanced version is included with new graphics, sitting alongside the standard build.

Requires the full Wolfenstein 3D

This is an add-on, not a stand-alone game: "Requires the full version of Wolfenstein 3D." The package supplies map data, sprites, and (for the Enhanced build) replacement graphics that the Mac port of Wolfenstein 3D loads on top of the base game. Players without a registered copy of MacPlay's Wolfenstein 3D have nothing to load the levels into.

The Dragon Cavern rename

The header flags the title history explicitly: Fortress of Fear is "formerly the Dragon Cavern." The Dragon Cavern release predates this package; the rename consolidates Mills's Wolfenstein content under the Fortress-of-Fear branding while folding in Tiger Cavern as a sister scenario. The Enhanced graphics are packaged alongside the original sprites, leaving the choice to the player.
