This compatibility patch updates CyberFlix's 1994 aerial-combat shooter Jump Raven for native PowerPC execution and AV-equipped Macs. The original release targeted 68k machines and 256-color displays; without the patch the game would refuse to launch or crash on later PowerMac hardware running System 7 and beyond.
About Jump Raven
Published by Paramount Interactive, Jump Raven is the second CyberFlix title, set in a polluted near-future New York. The player pilots an armored hovercraft as a bounty hunter, recovering cryogenically preserved DNA of endangered species from gangs and criminals across rendered urban canyons.
What the patch does
The patcher rewrites the game's 68k application binary with PowerPC-native code paths and adjusts AV Mac display routines so the title runs cleanly on Quadra AV, Power Macintosh 6100/7100/8100, and later models. It does not change gameplay, levels, or assets.
Applying it
Place the patch utility next to a fully installed copy of Jump Raven and run it; the patcher locates the executable and writes the updated resource fork in place. Keep a backup of the original application before patching.
Compatibility
Designed for System 7 through Mac OS 9 on PowerPC. Requires the original CD-ROM data files; the patch is not a standalone game. 256-color display mode is still required for correct rendering.
