This is the 4.0.3 updater for Spaceward Ho!, Delta Tao Software's long-running Macintosh strategy game of galactic exploration and conquest. It is one of a chain of small patches that progressively raise an installed copy of version 4.0 to the latest 4.0.5 build, and is meant to be applied on top of an existing full installation.
About the base game
Spaceward Ho! casts the player as the leader of a spacefaring civilization, exploring and colonizing star systems while competing against up to twenty rival empires controlled by the computer or by network opponents. The series is known for its clean Mac-native interface and approachable 4X design.
What the update does
The 4.0.3 patch is part of a sequence (4.0 to 4.0.1 to 4.0.3 to 4.0.5). Each step is a small updater rather than a full game, applied in order to bring an installed copy current.
Distribution
The updater is preserved on Macintosh Garden alongside the full game and the other intermediate patches.
