Squashy Color 1.1 is a HyperCard stack from the classic Mac shareware era, a small color-savvy diversion built on Apple's hypermedia authoring tool. As with most HyperCard releases, it lives or dies inside the HyperCard Player runtime that defined casual Mac software in the early 1990s.
A HyperCard Stack
The HC suffix marks this as a HyperCard stack rather than a standalone application. You launch it from within HyperCard or HyperCard Player, with the familiar card-and-stack metaphor framing the experience.
Color on a Mostly Monochrome Platform
The Color tag in the title points to use of HyperCard's later color extensions, which let stack authors break out of the original 1-bit aesthetic into the 8-bit palettes that classic Mac displays began to support.
Compatibility
Like most HyperCard stacks, Squashy Color 1.1 expects HyperCard 2.x or the freely distributed HyperCard Player on System 7 through Mac OS 9, and runs reliably under SheepShaver or Basilisk II.
