A third-party plug-in for Escape Velocity Override, Ambrosia Software's 1998 follow-up to the original Escape Velocity. Override expanded the universe roughly fivefold with branching storylines, over 250 missions, and improved graphics, and shipped with plug-in support that fan authors used to build new scenarios like this one.
Host game
Escape Velocity Override (1998), by Matt Burch and Peter Cartwright at Ambrosia Software, is a top-down space trading and combat game in the spirit of Elite, with strings, missions, and ships defined in editable resource files.
Plug-in architecture
Override reads add-on .rez files at startup, letting community authors layer in new ships, systems, governments, outfits, and mission strings without modifying the base game.
Mod context
The EVTG (Escape Velocity Trading Guild or similar fan plug-in) sits in that wider mod ecosystem; Macintosh Garden does not host a dedicated page for this specific plug-in, so details beyond the host engine are intentionally unstated here.
Era
Override targets Mac OS 8 / 9 era hardware and remains playable today via SheepShaver and other classic Mac emulators.
