ACE! 1.8.2 is a freeware extendable save game editor for Macintosh, written by Richard Drysdall (drysdall@crosswinds.net). It allows players to edit the save game documents (referred to as "characters" by some games) created by many commercial and shareware Mac titles, and to print details of those saves.
What It Edits
ACE! works through a module system, with each module targeting a specific game's save format. Version 1.8.2 added new modules for Marathon RED and updated existing modules for Wizardry Gold, Baldur's Gate, and Ferazel's Wand.
Print Support
Beyond editing, ACE! lets users print formatted details of a save game, useful for keeping notes on character builds or sharing configurations.
System Requirements
The author states ACE! will run on any Macintosh or MacOS-compatible computer with a minimum of System 7.0 or higher, 850k of disc space, and 512k of free RAM (1.5 MB preferred).
Distribution
ACE! is distributed as freeware. Further information was provided on the ACE! web page at crosswinds.net/~drysdall/ace.html, with the package preserved through the Info-Mac archive.
