David's Hell is a six-level user-made level group for Lode Runner: The Legend Returns, contributed to the Info-Mac archive by David A. Villa (DAV@mail.utexas.edu). The pack is explicitly designed for two-player cooperative or competitive play and is positioned by its author as a step away from the traditional Lode Runner puzzle style.
What is in the pack
The download contains six challenging levels intended specifically for two players, plus a separate text file of hints to help groups that get stuck. The author warns up front that these are not conventional Lode Runner puzzles.
Design twist
Rather than relying on the usual Lode Runner mechanics of digging gold, hoisting up ladders, and outrunning generic guards, David's Hell leans heavily on the behavior of the mad monks -- the enemy class that distinguishes Legend Returns from the original 1983 Lode Runner. Solving each level means understanding how the monks move, react, and can be manipulated.
How to use it
The pack is a level group for Lode Runner: The Legend Returns (Sierra/Presage, 1994), so a working installation of that game is required. The hint text file should be opened only after attempting a level honestly.
