Hearts-Dogs is an opponent character pack for Freeverse Software's Hearts Deluxe, archived in Info-Mac as hearts-dogs.hqx. The drop swaps the standard human-style opponents for a set of card-shark dogs illustrated by Mark Hudson, the same artist behind Freeverse's Zak-Rob-Jen pack.
What it adds
The package is purely an opponent set: drop it into the same folder as Hearts Deluxe and the dogs become available as match opponents in the classic four-player Hearts game. There is no new rules engine, only fresh portraits and personalities.
Requirements
The submission lists System 7.1 or later and Hearts Deluxe version 4.0 or later as hard requirements. The pack is inert without the parent shareware game, which Freeverse pointed users at via WWW.FREEVERSE.COM and other shareware mirrors.
What is new this upload
Freeverse calls out a more intelligent file naming scheme and updated contact information as the changes since the previous Info-Mac upload of the dogs pack.
