Briscola (CED Lecca version) is a 1997 shareware adaptation of the Italian trick-taking card game Briscola for Classic Mac OS, distributed by CED Lecca and bundled with the rules of the game. The Macintosh Garden listing offers both an English and an Italian build, each weighing in just over 800 KB and targeting 68k Macs from System 7.0 through Mac OS 9.
About Briscola
Briscola is a classic Mediterranean card game played with the 40-card Italian deck. The bottom card of the deck establishes the trump suit (briscola); play proceeds in fast hands as players try to capture aces, threes, and court cards, which carry the bulk of the scoring.
The CED Lecca port
This is described as "another shareware version" of the game, distinguishing it from earlier Tencas Group and other Italian developers' ports. The package includes built-in rules text in addition to the game itself, lowering the barrier for non-Italian players.
English and Italian builds
Macintosh Garden hosts two distinct downloads: Briscola_Demo_Eng.sit (840.17 KB) and Briscola_Demo_Ita.sit (835.94 KB). MD5 checksums are published for each. The point-and-click interface and 68k compatibility place it firmly in the late-System-7 shareware tradition.
