Grotic Read Me.Txt is the readme/notes file accompanying Grotic, a shareware action puzzle game for classic Mac OS by Rene Bauer (Imp89/Impression89). Grotic plays in the spirit of Puzzle Bobble: clear a field of balls by aiming with the mouse and matching three or more of the same color before time runs out.
About the game
Per the author and the Macintosh Garden listing, Grotic is an arcade-puzzle game first released in 1995. Each level fills the play area with balls; the player aims with the mouse, and groups of three or more matching balls disappear. Difficulty and game variants increase from level to level.
Version history
The 3.2 release notes call out improved graphics, bug fixes, cleared scores, and an easier registration flow versus prior builds. Macintosh Garden also lists later 3.5, 3.2 PPC, and 3.2 68k builds.
System and architecture
Grotic runs on System 7.0-7.6 and Mac OS 8-8.1, with separate 68k and PowerPC builds available so it can be played on both pre-PPC Macs and Power Macintosh hardware of the late 1990s.
